This is an old/rare preamp. I think that it is basically the preamp section of the AMP420-BH head. It sounds very round and warm. It kind of sits somewhere between and ashdown ABM and thunderfunk heads. Some normal rack rash. $200 shipped. US shipping only. The hard disk went on my PC so I can't add pictures right now. I may be looking for a markbass F500.reat |

I guess I can ask how it compares tonally to an LM II? I will say that I play J basses and tend do the Jaco/Will Lee type sound.
What amps have you driven with it? I've got a Peavey DPC 1000 that I'd like to hook something up to. Thanks.

Yeah, I gues the eq operates like the swr gear except that the treble control starts at around 1k instead 4k. When I ran it into any of my cabs, I just left the eq flat and set the timber at 2 o'clock. Thats it. I ran it into a crown xti-2000 amp by the way. Just a solid, affordable workhorse. I've played alot of preamps that cost way more and sounded nowhere near as good. Maybe I would compare it to some of the old peavey gear. I went through a buying streak and now Im once again weeding things out. |

This form factor actually works pretty well, in that it provides a bit of extra ventilation for power amps that need it. I used my SL-1 mounted over a Stewart World 1.2 power amp (for a total of three rack spaces). The two thirds rack space of added ventilation over the power amp made a big difference in reducing the operating temperature of the amp. Ditto for the Raven Labs USIP preamp (also 1.33 rack spaces).
