Ampeg B3-H (consider it a project amp) and Behringer cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Amp:
It's an Ampeg B3 bass head, which is basically just the head portion of the 90s B3 combo amps. It's rated for 150 watts at 4ohms and can drive 2 speaker cabinets. (I don't know what it is at 8 ohms)

The issues:
  • DO NOT plug or unplug a guitar while the amp is on. Very loud pops at low volumes when doing this.
  • Half of the pots are scratchy
  • Tapping the bass amp near the input jack causes popping.
  • Something is up with the ultra-mid knob. It feels loose, and I'm not sure it works through it's entire rotational area.
  • There was a bit of scratching when moving one or two of the sliders on the 9 band EQ.
  • One of the feet on the side is missing.

I would fix this myself if I were good with electronics and had the time and energy. I'm selling this because of my lack of repair skills and also because I have a GK 700RB to use.

Last I checked, these went about $150+shipping on ebay. Due to the aforementioned issues, I'll sell this for $75 OBO local pickup only.

Speaker Cab:
I also have a Behringer BB210. 2x10" speakers at 600ish watts at 8ohms. It's loud and sounds good for the price range as long as you keep the tweeter off. (it works, I just don't like the sound) It's incredibly sturdy and weighs about 60-70lbs.

I'll ask $90 OBO local pickup. SOLD

Take both for: $150 Cab SOLD

Trades:
Speaker cabs. Need something that can be used either standalone or as a supplement to my SWR 12pack.

Misc Info:
I'll accept paypal or cash.
For local pickup, I'm in Raleigh, NC halfway between NCSU and Cary.

Yes, there is an XLR out on the back. Beside it is a toggle switch so that it can be used as either a preamp, or just direct out.

There's also an effects loop and a footswitch connector back there.

Here's the manual for reference, since it isn't a very common amp: http://www.ampeg.com/manuals/B-3.PDF
