I have two of these heads and I'm letting one go. It is the U.S.A. built V-4B which is the precurser to the V-4BH. (it's the exact same head).
I just had the head gone over completely and picked it up from Interstate Music just last night. I had all the power tubes and all pre-amp tubes replaced as well as the fuse. They also cleaned all controls, jacks, and tube sockets and re-biased the tubes. It's a great sounding head as most folks know. And I played through it today for about an hour just to get the smell of the heated new tubes.... nice! 100 watts of pure Ampeg tube tone. It will ship in a Ampeg V-4BH box and will be packed very well so not to worry... and it will also be insured and shipped FedEx ground. It's $600.00 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 United States. I spent $225.00 getting it re-tubed, re-biased and cleaned. I think the build year is 1996 and it shows after 14 years. You can see everything in the pictures. And for the sake of full discloser I have to note that the person I bought this from in Austin scraped off the original V-4B logo so when I got it I found a picture on-line copied it and made a waterslide decal and put it back on the amp face. Why someone would do that.... I don't know. Anyway, I thought I would offer it up here to my fellow TB's before sending it over to the evilbay. Thanks! |
