Time to part with my 1970's V4B. I just haven't been playing it and need to make some room. I purchased it a few years ago, and had it converted to a 3 prong plug. Includes a fliptops.net vinyl slip on cover. Cosmetically it is in good, although on the underside there are some tears in the tolex.
In full disclosure, there are two different brands of power tubes (3 old RCAs and one old GE), so I asked my amp tech to put it on the scope. It is putting out 100 watts and the tubes are matched. His recommendation was to leave it as is. Amp is quite and electronically checks out.

Asking $700 plus the cost of shipping. Local deal in MA much preferred. Not super interested in trades, but feel free to PM me any offers.
Free bump for an upstanding TB'er and for a fantastic amp! I own a '73 V4B that looks just like this one, and it is a tone machine!
And in case you are pondering what cab to go with this fine amp, a great option is a Fliptops sealed 4x10 cab loaded with Eminence B810's. Fliptops will make the cab 27" wide to perfectly match the V4B. That's the cab I got for my V4B (directly from Fliptops), and it's a match made in heaven! Tone for days!
V4B's don't come up for sale very often (V4's yes, but V4B's no). And this one looks like it's is very good condition!
Thanks! I'm looking to get this into the hands of someone who will play it.
I have one of these and @ $700 with the aluminum knobs, 3 prong plug and in great condition it is a steal!
I used mine this summer through 2 berg HT15's playing dinosaur rock and it was the sound of THOR! I got many compliments and several musicians told me never to sell the rig.
Thanks! Just trying to get back what I paid for it and into the hands of someone who will end up using it.
I almost forgot, I have an empty V4 4x12" I will throw in for a local buyer (way too big to ship). I got it thinking I would restore it, but never got around to it. It includes some tolex and a baffle the guy I got it from made. Not pretty, but would be a fun project to restore.
There is a thread on it here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/am...b-bass-529540/
I actually restored another v4 4x12" that I am going to keep. They come out sounding killer and really fit the form factor of the V4B.
has it been recapped?
Nope, original caps.
Open to offers as well.
Sold locally through craigslist.
