The step down converter works great and theres no buzz I can report. I recorded with it at a pretty good studio here in Bris and had no problems at all. I think the fact that it is a 500 watt converter means it's never working too hard and avoids issues. I actually get more buzz and noise out of my GK800RB with standard power.
Before buying this, I did a fair bit of research. Theres two schools of thought - pay a tech a few hundred dollars to cut into your amp and put the basic circuitry into the amp that is in the converter or buy the additional box. I'm sure I'll buy more stuff from the US in the future and I'll stick with this option. It works well, is safe and I never had any issues.
I was basically using the converter as an extension cord at times. Very handy on stages with limited sockets.
