Sold!!(Australia) FS Ampeg SVT3 Pro

I've decided it's time to streamline my gear collection. I have an Ampeg SVT3 Pro Head complete with a Gator roadcase and a 500Watt 120-240v Stepdown Power Converter for sale. This is the best selling bass head in the world and with good reason. The output is 450 watts into 4ohms.

Full specs are available here -

http://www.ampeg.com/manuals/SVT-3PRO.PDF

Condition wise, the SVT is approximately 18 months old and is in near new condition. There are no marks or scratches on the head whatsoever. The gator case is secondhand and has some marks but protects the head nicely. I have no pictures at this stage but can provide some if requested.

These sell for $2800AUD new without the roadcase. I'm looking for $1400AUD plus any shipping. I'm based in Brisbane so pickup is an option for Queensland or Northern NSW TB'ers. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Any chance you can get some pictures up?

I presume the amp is set to run at 115vAC hence needing the Step Down transformer? How does the transformer work on this amp deos it get a bit of buzz?

Certainly Interested..

Hey,

Thanks for your interest. I'll get over to Tym Guitars this week and take some photos and forward them on to you. It might take me a day or two but I'll get there. The step down converter works great and theres no buzz I can report. I recorded with it at a pretty good studio here in Bris and had no problems at all. I think the fact that it is a 500 watt converter means it's never working too hard and avoids issues. I actually get more buzz and noise out of my GK800RB with standard power.

Before buying this, I did a fair bit of research. Theres two schools of thought - pay a tech a few hundred dollars to cut into your amp and put the basic circuitry into the amp that is in the converter or buy the additional box. I'm sure I'll buy more stuff from the US in the future and I'll stick with this option. It works well, is safe and I never had any issues.

I was basically using the converter as an extension cord at times. Very handy on stages with limited sockets.

Cheers.

I've arranged for Tim to email me some photos of the SVT. I'll post them as soon as they arrive. Sorry for the delay.

Bump for a really good amp.

I had a svt pro 4 come from the states and it only cost 120 au for a switch in power supply wiring.
