I purchased this cabinet brand new in 2010. I loved the cabinet but wanted a different tone, so I sold the speakers and ordered brand new Eminence Delta Pro-12A replacements. It was custom wired with heavy gauge speaker wire without the crossover and tweeter (because I do not like tweeters), but the tweeter is still mounted in the cabinet if you wanted to use it. It is in absolute perfect condition and has not left my home since I got it. It's 4 ohms and rated at 800 watts! The Line-X finish is virtually indestructible as well, and much better than carpet or tolex if you are on the road.
The speakers themselves cost about $250 brand new and they have a 7 year warranty (I will include the receipt as well).
I also ordered a TUKI heavy cover for it and I will include that for free. I have a brand new 5 ft. Speakon cable and I will include that for free as well.
I don't want to sell it, but I work for the fed. govt. and I'm getting a promotion which requires me to relocate across the country, so I am selling a lot of my gear.
I am verified through Paypal and will only accept funds sent through Paypal. If you need references or photos please PM me.
I will sell this for $450 total (including Paypal fees and insured ground shipping to the lower 48 states).

This cab really sounds incredible with a 4-string, but never tested it with a 5.
Ampeg, Aguilar, Mesa, GK, and Genz Benz Streamliner heads are a perfect match for this cab IMO.
To my ears it's geared for more of a big rock tone (not hi-fi super clean) with strong lows, even mids (not cut), and plenty of highs - but without the tweeter hiss.
And it's REALLY LOUD for a 2x12!!!

However, I think the best (easiest and cheapest) way to use the tweeter would be to contact Dave at Avatar and tell him that you want a jack plate assembly for a B212 (it comes pre wired with a new crossover and wires that don't need to be soldered on the speaker/tweeter side). I think they cost about $25 and then all you do is replace the whole assembly and insert the wires and you're done. No soldering and it takes just a couple minutes to take out the screws of the jackplate and replace the wires.
I had to modify the current jack plate assembly to install a different (solderless) Speakon jack, so it would be best to just get a new one from Avatar. This way you could return the cabinet to stock except with the upgraded speakers.
All of the current wiring connections are solderless (meaning you put in the wire and tighten the screw - on both the speaker side and the speakon jack side) and the wires are a much heavier gauge than the stock ones.
And oh BTW - the cabinet with the original Delta LF's weighed 79 lbs (per Avatar's website) - the Delta LF's weigh 11.8 lbs each (per Eminence's website). The Delta Pro's which are in there now weigh 16.3 lbs each, so the cab now weighs 88 lbs. It's a BEAST!!! If you have the right amp then this cab is REALLY LOUD!!! I was using it with a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 and that was an awesome match!!! In fact Avatar Speakers now sell Genz Benz heads!

If you buy one of these new you only get a 1 year warranty!!!
IMO the Delta LF option makes the cabinet sound sort of dull and muddy without much midrange, and the Neo option gives the cabinet a big high mid bump. That's why I upgraded the speakers to the Delta Pro's!!!

Then the cabinet will be totally stock except for the upgraded Delta Pro speakers.
PS when you order it from Avatar make sure you tell them its for a 4 ohm cabinet!!! |

Then it would be $450 TOTAL and would require a $25 deposit for me to order the part, then the balance as soon as its ready to ship.
Just a thought. |
