Bag End 4x10 speakers w/ELF M2 processor

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, go easy on me -- this is my first time post ever on TalkBass. A few years ago I bought this set up from a user that had never used them. My plan was to use them in my home theater system. So I took them into a local musician store (Morgan Sound in Lynnwood, WA) and they suggested I replace the top 10" stock cone that produces the "highs" with a top end JBL driver, which I had them do. I used these for a few years but only when we watched movies -- a couple times a weekend MAYBE, but oh baby did they rock! I pushed the bottom end with a Mackie 2600 and the top end with good old Soundcraftsman MA5002 amp. I loved it! But there comes a time when 3 young kids & the family force ya to make decisions. So I am selling the speakers, the ELF M2 processor (I guess Bag End has renamed the same sort of processor now?).

I also have 2 approx 50' Horizon 4 conductor speaker cables with Neutrik ends that I bought at Morgan Sound (they made them).

I have 2 Neutrik connectors (that can connect two Neutriks together)

I have 2 approx 15' Horizon 4 conductor cables -- one end has a Neutrik connector and the other has two of the wires into a banana plug for the highs and another banana plug for the lows. I used these to hook into the Soundcraftsman & Mackie. Again, Morgan made these cables.

They weigh 100lbs each but have nice handles on the ends and the sides depending how you want to carry them.

I honestly have ZERO clue what to ask for these -- that's not some scam or anything -- I'm just clueless since I can't seem to find any reference on the Net about this model (says 010WE-0 as the item # and "SPEAKER SYS QUAD 10 W/ELF & AX-HI-D RED" on the packing slip I got from the person who won them originally). The packing slip even says "Congratulations on your win!"

Here are some pics/thumbnails -- links to larger pics:

I hope to get some offers of some sort. I have little interest in shipping these beasts -- so local pick up. About 20 minutes North of Seattle.

Please E-mail me directly with questions. I can provide you my eBay user name to check my feedback and also another forum I frequent a lot. Thanks again & my apologies for being such a noob here.

So, did you put the stock Bag End dual driver cones back in?

No -- never even thought of it. Maybe I have them somewhere -- I guess I'd wonder why I'd do that if I upgraded the quality of the speaker? Clearly I'm showing my ignorance again, sorry.

Cool -- I still only see one -- the shot of the back of the speaker -- too weird. Thanks for letting me know.

No, it's just that I thought the red center driver in the top cone was a proprietary "look" for the Bag End coax drivers, so seeing the red there made me think they were Bag End cones. The JBL's had red centers as well?

I do have my receipt from Morgan Sound (the folks that changed them out) -- I'll look at it and if I can't figure it out I'll drop by and talk to the good folks there. I'm sure they'll remember me and the speakers -- they're pretty unique...I think so anyway! I appreciate your patience with me. I was going to just list these on Craigslist here in Seattle but once I found this site I thought to myself someone here might appreciate & want them more. If I'm way off and these are just "so-so" units, I would appreciate knowing and I'll just toss them on CL & sell them locally. Any idea what they are worth? I'm not here to make a million -- just to be fair or even a little better than fair to the buyer.

According to my spouse I don't "need" the Mackie, nor do I need the JBL 18" sub/cab that I have for the subwoofer in my home theater system but I WANT them!

I do have a RANE EQ that you can see in the pic I'd like to sell as well. It was used in the same system as the Bag Ends. Make me an offer!

Wow, how did you know I've always loved Crest gear but for whatever reason have never bought one of the CA line -- is this a sign that I am to sell my 2600 to you? Could be.

Ok - I'll hazard a guess. If you pull that driver with the Red Dust cap you'll find a Bag End 10 with a JBL compression driver threaded onto the back rather than the stock Eminence compression driver.

What do these babies weigh ?

Here I go sounding stupid again -- do you mean that one driver itself? I I've never taken one out but it probably isn't that hard??? I have a day off tomorrow -- I'll add it to my "to do" list.

I guess email me an offer? My thinking is that 2600 is a bit overkill for the JBL 18" sub I have (I used to drive it with a M1400i). LMK
