Bag End S15-D Red Carpet W/Eminence Kappa Speaker Cabinet

Sign in to disble this ad
Regretfully selling my Bag End S15-D speaker cabinet. This one has an Eminence Kappa LF speaker installed, it handles 600 watts vs. only 200 watts from the original speaker. This speaker works really well in conjunction with a higher frequency cabinet like a 2X10, 1X12, etc. Frankly, I think it sounds pretty good even on its own! Never had a cover for this one, but the red carpet has held up really well. I'm asking $225 plus shipping, Paypal accepted, CONUSA and Canada only for this one. PM me for more information. Thanks for looking!

Can you tell us about the speaker in this and why you chose that one. Just curious. I had an original Bag End S-15D, and I'm just wondering how this woud differ in sound.

Sure, I chose this speaker mainly because of its power handling capabilities (600 watts vs. only 200 watts in the original Bag End driver). I also ran this in tandem with a 2x10 cabinet so that gave me the highs I needed. The highs in this speaker are a little more attenuated than the original Bag End driver. I believe it does have more low end than the original. Hope this helps.

Does this speaker require a lot of power? I've got an old GK400RB head, which I think is under 200 watts.

Sensitivity is rated at about 98 db per watt. It gets plenty loud with my Markbass LMII hooked up to it, of course that's putting out 300 watts at 8 ohms.

About the same as with the original speaker, around 45-50 lbs.
