Lightbulb Berg IP-153 MINT!

Sign in to disble this ad
Mint Condition, very rare, IP-153 3 way bi-amped amp/cab system for sale. 1000 watts (500 + 500). Hard to find cause they're costly to make.

A fellow TB'er did and excellent job of reviewing the cab here Berg IP153 review ... so I will just relay Bergantino's latest upgrades. Please note that this is a SINGLE cab solution.

This iteration uses just one mid, but higher quality (really nice driver) - higher power driver instead of the original two (which Jim had attenuated for single cab operation). Other improvements include his newer sprayed on tuff coat finish that he has applied to the newer AE series cabs, very nice (no rat fur). Also comes with removable casters which are the perfect height for a tilt back...nice.

State of the Art in Jim's IP line.
Effortless articulation, and LOUD.

1999 + shipping to the lower 48 (preamp NOT included, local sale preferred (Boston), but will ship ...)
FSO (have a very expensive bass being built to pay for. I reserve the right to change my mind on this sale, so contact me now, while I'm weak :>)

Sorry for the crappy pics...:>/

Wow.

I can't say that I've ever heard of one of these rare beasts coming up for sale.

Snooze = lose on this one, methinks.

Come on, Powerball . . . .

Bump for some other lucky soul.

with a Millenia SST as well...bet that sounds good.

Please tell me you're not playing it with a Pre bass with flat wounds and a pick!

Unreal gear, man. Don't know how you could part with that, and wish I had the money/back.

Cheers,
Cameron

Rounds on a 60's RI Jazz ...nice! Plenty of cut when you need it. The cab is more compact than you would think from the pic, and the casters are quite helpful.

This and the SA200 I sold will be on my short list of sold gear reflections.

Damn, I am local. I'd hate to see what a "very expensive" bass is considering your rig.

Awesome set up man.

I have an IP-153, but it's the original version.. It's a fantastic rig, full range... I'm sure this sounds just as nice as mine.. You can't beat these rigs, especially with the right preamp..
Good luck with the sale and a free bump by the way..

Thanks, and correct...no change in sound at all...just a more efficient (though no less costly) build.
It only sounds better because it LOOKS better (no rat fur)

This cab is designed to take an optional 2nd cab as well.
Are you sure? It looks like that particular cab is using the power module that is not intended to power another cab (but which puts its full power into a single enclosure - which I would guess is 4 ohms, instead of 8 ohms, like the other IP153's). That looks like an optional PowerCon AC connection, there, and not a Speakon connector for driving another cab.

Tom.

If anyone would know, it would be you Tom.
I have removed reference to this and have sent Jim an email for clarity.

Thanks Much

No problem! In truth, that IP153 should work VERY WELL as a single, 4-ohm box. I have done some very big gigs with just one IP310/212, and this cab should be every bit as loud.

Man, if my clients were doing a better job of paying me right now, I'd jump on this myself!

Tom.
