Bergantino AE112 for sale

HOLDING OFF SELLING UNTIL I CHECK SOME OTHER AMP COMBO's WITH THEM.

I have two mint condition Bergantino AE112 cabinets for sale. I purchased them new on 6/8/10 from Bass Central. They sound great, but I have come to realize that I need a lot more power in my cabinets.

These have never been gigged and have been in my smoke-free home since I received them. I am guessing that I have played through them about 10-12 hours total.

I have the original boxes and packing material.

Wow, you were able to tell they didn't have enough power and they never left your house? You must have a pretty big house

Either that, or my hearing is much worse than I thought.

When I practiced with them, they sound incredible. However, when the band comes over, I am drowned out and can't hear myself. I know the guitarist is playing too loud, but when I request that he turn down, the volume slowly creeps back up. I am using the cabinets with an RH450 head that is almost peaked.

With my older system, GB1200 with a 4X10 cabinet, I could hear myself perfectly in the band and the volume was only at 25%. However, I sold it in order to get an easier and more modular bass setup.

Anyway, I am concerned that if I can't hear myself playing with the band in the practice room, then there is no way I would hear myself through them playing live.

Also, the cabinets are 8 ohms.

You may want to try a different amp. 2 ae112s should be able to keep up with a guitar player in your house. The rh450 is pretty powerful but does not cut like some other amps like markbass, genz Benz, GK etc Also, try cutting the low mids a touch and maybe even boost the high mids a touch. Those are great cabs and It would be a shame to regret selling them later. I was using a single ae112 with a genz benz shuttle 6.0 head with my band...2 guitars, drums and keys and had no issues when we practiced. They were all stunned by how loud it was

It's the amp! I had 2 RH450's and got rid of them because they got lost in the mix. Look at how many RH450's are for sale on this board.

Thanks for the information. I have tried various settings with the RH450 and they sounded great, then the band plays and everything changes. I might try a Genz Benz shuttle and see how that works and sell my RH450. I play in a progressive rock band and my style is a lot like Geddy's (shameless plug - check out Consult with Humans from our MySpace site - see below), thus I need to be able to cut through the mix.

Thus, I will hold off selling my AE112's until I check out some other amps.

That's probably a good call...If you are playing prog rock...the RH450/bergantino is probably not a good combination. Something along the lines of a Genz Benz, Epifani, Markbass is probably more what you are looking for. My own shameless plug..I have an Epifani PS1000 I am selling. More power than you would ever need and a way better match for the AE112s.

Well,

I decided to keep my Bergantino AE112 cabinets. They sound great with my new Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. I can hear myself perfectly in the band now.

Thanks for the recommendations!!!
