Pictures to come shortly - it's just too late to take the time to resize and post them.
I'm going to say local sales only for now, although I may be willing to ship if you can help me find an easy way to get/make a box and ship these. First up is the widely regarded "best bass cab in the world," the Bergantino NV 610. I won't waste time saying too much about this cab, as just about everyone knows how much it rules. Just do a quick search and you will see that nobody has anything bad to say about it (not that I've heard anyway).
This one works perfectly, although it has a few cosmetic flaws. The cover has a couple small tears, the metal corners are a bit scratched up, and there are a few dents in the plywood. Most of these were not there a few weeks ago, but I lent the cab to a friend of mine to take on tour with Ben Kweller. The cab hasn't been banged around, it just looks as though it rubbed against some anvil cases on the truck - there are dents right about where those round metal corners would have been. ARGH!!! So anyway, cab works great, looks pretty good.
The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm really trying to downsize. I simply don't need this much cab (although I will say that it is super easy to move compared to any 8x10, or any other 6x10 for that matter). Let's say $775 for this one, Paypal fees included (but not shipping). SOLD Second is a Bag End Q10X-D, which is the discontinued shallow 4x10 with a coaxial tweeter. This thing is super compact, about 22"x27"x12". That's right, just 12" deep! Don't let that fool you though, this thing has some great low end due to the rear ports behind each speaker. I've just found that I prefer the tightness of sealed cabs (plus I'd still like an even smaller cab). This cab is also punchy and has some sparkly but not harsh highs thanks to the coaxial tweeter. There is no level control for the tweeter, but I have rewired it so that one of the 1/4" inputs doesn't include the tweeter. This is really nice if you like to use a lot of overdrive - I've found that too much distortion does not agree with tweeters. If you don't want this I can always return it to it's normal state. I could also easily convert one of the Speakon inputs to bypass the tweeter as well if you use those connectors, just let me know.
This one is in really great shape. I got it in a store on consignment, but I think it was basically new. Apparently it was put on consignment by a Bag End rep. I got the impression that it had just been sitting around and they wanted to unload it quickly because it is a discontinued model. For this one I'll say $400 (again, including Paypal but not shipping). I may be looking at selling this locally to a friend, but I'm not sure how interested she is yet. So feel free to contact me and make an offer! On Hold pending tax returns . . .
Please local folks, help me out! I need funds for a new cab, the sooner the better. Like I said above, I much prefer a local sale, as both of these are near 100 lbs. (yikes!). Therefore, I will wait a little while to deal locally. But if you're not local feel free to make an offer anyway. I live in Minneapolis but frequently travel up to Fargo/Moorhead and occasionally down to Chicago (I'll be there Memorial Day weekend), so if you're near I-94 anywhere between Fargo and Chicago we could possibly meet. I can easily fit the Bag End, but it may be hard to fit the Berg and still have room for my wife and baby in a carseat . . .
You can PM me, but I check email more often, so you can also email me at sutt0073@umn.edu. Talk to y'all soon!!

In the photo of the back you can see where a couple of the marks from the other road cases are (those white marks above the casters). They really aren't that visible in person. I think the flash really brings them out.
You can also see a tear in the cover (this is the biggest tear), as well as the scratches on the corners.
I hate to focus on the negatives, because this cab really is in great shape. I just don't want anyone to be disappointed by the cosmetic stuff. |
