Crown Macro-Tech 2402

Hey there, I have been sitting on this amp for a few years since I purchased it intending to expand my PA system; but for various reasons I have not followed through with that and so it's only been used twice. I haven't made any real attempt to sell it yet, but I have read some players around here really like the Macro-Tech's (big fat bottom is why I bought it!) and I really like the classifieds here so I figured i'd give it a go.

The amp is new in it's box and is unscathed except one scratch across the top from sliding out of an amp rack. I payed $2000 new in 2006 for it and would let it go for $1100 if anyone is interested.

I don't have any pics atm but will take some if desired. Thanks!

Djero

Just wow. Bump for an amazing power amp at a very attractive price. Seeing this and that Alembic FX-1 in another current thread is sending shivers... Good luck with the sale!

I've been debating selling this for years; seeing how it's not being used and there are things I need more at the top of my list it seems it is time to let it go. I'll be in the mountains for the weekend, anyone interested just pm me and i'll get back at you first thing next week.

I had one of these up for sale a while back. I yanked it down after I started having to lower the price beyond what I would've wanted to let it go. Really glad I kept it now. Since my thunderfunk needs to go in for a little TLC, I've been using a SABDDI (not my favorite pre) into my macrotech. Say what you want about class D/digital power sections, they just do NOT reproduce transients and low end like the bad boy lead sled.

Good luck with your sale and bump.

Bump for great amp. I have an older Macro Tech 1200 and it is just awesome. Plenty of headroom and the power you get is good and clean which is good for your speakers. Now the high wattage and volume could be bad though!

You know, it is hard to let this go for half of what I paid for it. Perhaps I should consider getting a preamp and having a bad-ass new bass amp with it. I never really considered that before, but heaven forbid my T-funk ever went down, I wouldn't mind having a backup of this quality!

I would still let it go to the right person, but if not perhaps there are some promising options for keeping it around....

To sell or not to sell, that is the question....

I've got this same amp model paired with a Demeter 201S preamp powering one, two or four 1x12" cabs with between 500 and 1500 watts. It sounds incredible and even after hundreds (thousands?) of rehearsals and gigs has never let me down. I don't think I'll ever sell it, even if I eventually move to a lighter-weight amp head. If I had the spare cash I'd pick this up just to keep in my rehearsal space.

Good luck with your sale, or enjoy the fine sounds it makes should you decide to keep it.
