After begging Steve to sell me two of his custom 2x12's made using Wizzy drivers from EA, I find myself not using them as much as I had anticipated. This is due in large part to my Bergantino NV215, which has become my cab of choice with tube heads. I am also going through a rare "need to clean house and make room for more new gear!" phase, so take advantage while you can!
These "Super Wizzies" or "Swizzies" are ported, but Steve also supplied plugs for the ports. In the photo below, you can see that one has the plugs in and the other has them out (I have all four plugs).
These cabs are warm, punchy, smooth, roundish, but not muddy. They can definitely handle a low of power (though I have never abused them). They are in near mint condition, and function perfectly. Steve has them wired up in an 8 ohm configuration.
NO LONGER FOR SALE, SORRY.
Take care, Tom.

As for efficiency, I'll have to ask Steve if he took any measurements or if he has a ballpark idea. My impression is that they are fairly efficient. I've had no problem getting significant volume out of them. The sound of one Swizzy is similar to two EA Wizzies, but with the transmission line design, the two EA's stacked are slightly deeper, where as the Azola cab is more punchy. To keep things even when doing this comparison, I used a series speaker cable with the two Wizzies, such that they showed an 8 ohm load instead of a 2 ohm load. Overall volume between the two EA's versus one Azola cab was very similar.

Thx. | Well, the Wizzy is rated at 48Hz to 12 kHz, but, that is for just one 1x12, and not two. BUT, the EA Wizzy is a transmission line design, and the Azola cabs are not (though they are ported). FWIW, to my ears, one Swizzy sounds a good bit deeper than one Wizzy, but similar on the high end. And two stacked EA Wizzy's go slightly deeper than one Swizzy 2x12. But as I have stated elsewhere, two Wizzy's stacked give off much more low end than you would expect (even accounting for the expected low freq boost from stacking cabs).
Not too scientific, but hopefully that helps. |

Tom. | Just checked that out. I was a little worried though. The tone of some of the postings in those threads led me to believe that maybe us TBers aren't welcome
