I just picked this up as a floor model from the Atlanta Bass Gallery and GAS has gotten the best of me. So, I am sticking with my rule of: if one comes in, another goes out. This is a killer amp. Jim Demeter designs some great gear and this is based upon the renown Demeter HPB-1 Tube Bass preamp. Then a 600 watt MOSFET power section has been added.
This thing is loud! And it is one of the few amps on the market today that
TRULY SUPPORTS 2 OHMS! In my initial testing of this amp. I actually knocked a picture of the wall in my music room. I have played with a lot of amps and have never done that!
OK, a little more about the preamp section. It has a standard 3 band EQ that is always engaged. There is also a parametric EQ that you can take in and out of the signal chain. Not only can you select the frequency and the amount of cut/boost. You can also select the width of the frequency. A very unique and very useful feature. The tonal possibilities are really limitless.
A great amp that puts out a very conservative 600 watts, support 2 ohms and only weighs 25lbs. New these are $1400. I will do this one for $725 shipped and will include a Planet Waves banana to Speakon cable.
