My injuries from a car accident and complications of diabetes have been taking their toll, but I fell in my driveway and ripped off tendons in my shoulder that are going to ruin any bass playing from now on. It was coming. I did one of those, 'I've fallen, and I can't get up!' deals. I laid out in the cold for over an hour until I was able to flag a car down, and get somebody to help me up. The Mayo Clinic told me yesterday, to give it up. Anyway, I'm selling my big rig to start off.

Pearson 6 space rack
Sabine RT7000 Rack Tuner
Eden WT330 as a preamp to:
Carvin DCM2500
2- Avatar 410Neo 4 ohm cabs

The amp gives 850 per channel at 4 ohms, so it's running at 1700 watts. Great low end, plays as loud or as soft as you wish it to do.
I'd like to sell the rig as a whole, but could separate the cabs and rack I guess. I used to ship anything, but can't anymore, so this will have to be a local Minnesota-Wisconsin type sale. Twin Ports to Twin Cities, to Fargo, to Madison. Can deliver part way, or the whole way, depending. The whole rack is wired to a single 12ga. feed cord, so all grounds are always the same. No rips or tears. Except my tears! (pun) All in very good condition!

A great deal at $1200.00
If you want to break it up:
Rack $700.00
Cabs $500.00

I'm sure gonna miss the sound that this rig gives. I've never owned anything that has the tone and power of this rig. The WT330 in here, is the one I got from Tom Bowlus. It has the best sound of any amp I ever had.

I'm sorry to read of your condition. As Morris wrote, heal up and take one day at a time.

Sorry to hear about your problems, Joe. Get well fast. I'm 61 and my bass playing days are numbered too. It all has to come to an end someday. Good luck selling your gear.

Not so fast, there's always the lobby of the 'Sisters of the 5 Wounds' nursing home. I know someday I'll find some of us old rockers and rappers on the 3rd or 4th floor to do a set before med time.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. If you cant play bass then I'm sure you can still write a few inspired songs in the meantime and have your friends play them.

You may find that you can still play after giving it some time. Don't sell everything if you don't have to. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all the wishes guys!! Unfortunatly, when the Mayo speaks, there's not many voices to trump them.

bump for the gear sale.

One bright side is that todays amps and cabs are getting lighter and smaller like never before.

Heal, sacrifice some of the tone you love for a micro-rig-of-doom, get one of those beatle basses or a parker that weoighs nothing, and rock on.

the guys in my band are all ailing in one way or another, I dont think we have 2 good pacreas' and 6 good hips among us.

Where there is a will there is a way, though compromise may be in order.

Sorry to hear about your hard times, jg.

Maybe you could learn to play bass on a keyboard.

Good luck.

i landed on my back from the ice last year, but the only casualty was my cell phone.....between that and the wannabe gang creeps out there it's never far off.......

hopefully with therapy you can get back to playing, sitting down or with a stand for your bass to clamp into.....theres a guy here that uses one....lightweight rig and some helpful band mates and bob's yer uncle....

those avatar cabs look sweet, but you may need them......its always bad to see an ol' harley guy lay it down.....the yuppies with those silly lookin' orange county rides need someone to show 'em what the real ones looked like, and how to put them together themselves

Sorry to hear about your injury and also sorry I dont live closer to take one of those cabs off your hands!

Good luck with everything-are you having surgery?

My drummer did something very similar back in September and he's JUST getting back to playing now.
He slipped and fell on a wet rock and did the same thing you did-removed 2 tendons from the bone. He had surgery a week or so later and rehabbed like crazy for a few months.

Maybe you could get a Steinberger and a microhead and some neo cabs and keep on rockin'

Good luck!!!

If this is the same rig that i got to play with last time i was there, I can vouch for it being an incredible rig. If you need any help delivering this, I'd be glad to help!

Head up Joe; will say a prayer for a speedy recovery.
Broke my wrist and brused an ankle & knee 5 weeks ago from a simple ladder slide out; no good dead goes unpunsihed; was cleaning the x-wife's gutters (at a house that I pay for); could have been much worse as in I could be dead.
Not as serious as you, but perhaps a little too early to decide to quit playing altogether.
Besides tough guy, anybody that survived hill climbing some heavy a$$, ill handling Hog is going to prove out to be tougher than ice & concrete over the long run. Bet nobody at Mayo has ever been on a bike WFO layed down real nice in a corner; we got way too much stupid going for us to quit that easy brother.
If you need cash, just say so; if a whole bunch of us toss out $5 you can keep the gear and we'll all be hapier; don't make us angry old man!
