SOLD David Nordschow DNA DNS-112N
I waited so long for this cabinet and I know some will be surprised that I'm selling it. It's hard to articulate. It's not that I don't like it, it's just not doing what I need it to do.
I was one of the "pre" order folks that bought it sight unseen - and unheard. While I was waiting for it to come in I was using a Schroeder 1210L. I play a Rick 4003 and the Schroeder was reproducing that warmly distorted, slightly clanky sound perfectly in the mix with my drummer and guitarist. I was "playing" the Schroeders's mid-rangy color right along with my bass. Line 6 folks brag about how they worked that feel of "playing the amp and cabinet" into the guitar amp models of their new HD series pedals. So some folks understand the concept.
The tribute to the DNS-112N is
it adds no color. It doesn't break up or crunch at certain midrange frequencies. It doesn't create it's own tone on top of the original tone. My Nordy equipped Jazz Bass sounds wonderful when I play bluesy finger style through the DNS-112N. It's percussive and smooth all at once. I wouldn't call it HiFi, just transparent. Unfortunately, that's not the style I'm going for here. The Schroeder just does a better job because it distorts at all the right points giving me that rubber-coated-chains-rattling-in-a-garbage-can Rickenbacker sound I love so much.
Hope this helps folks understand why I'm selling. This is a very, very good cabinet. Just not what I'm looking for. Ask any questions you want.
I am asking $550, 150 off what I paid for it. For trade, I'm looking for another 4 ohm Schroeder 1212L, 1210L or 21012L for the other channel of my QSC. I'll ship it anywhere in the CONUS for $25. I have the original box, packing and Bass Central receipt.
These cabinets have a SNAGG RFID tag in them. You can register it with DNA and that will help you recover it if it's stolen. It is currently unregistered.
