Dr. Bass Cabs: Part II

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got GAS....Bad! This is your chance to get some great cabs at a great price. So here they are again. TWO custom made, one-of-a-kind Dr. Bass cabinets, each hand made by Marc Serio (Dr. Bass). This stack is the ultimate in portability, sound and price!

Both the 2x10 and the 1x15 were made at the same time, and are meant to be used together, though they can both easily stand on their own. Also, both the 2x10 and the 1x15 have Eminence Neo speakers and are constructed out of 3/8" Birch plywood. They were designed to be light but sound heavy (which they do).

From top to bottom:

Custom 1x15: Rated at 300 watts @ 8 ohms. Freakishly light at 32.5 lbs. Nice growl and punch. Very efficient and loud. I actually prefer this on top of the 2x10 as opposed to the other way around. Sweet stand alone cab, too.

Custom 2x10: Rated at 500 watts @ 8 ohms. Also very light at 39 lbs. This thing sounds real good as a stand alone cab. Efficient, loud, and punchy. And it projects great.

Dimensions for both cabs:
Width--20.25"
Height--18"
Depth--15"

Both cabinets are in mint condition, and work flawlessly.

$250 each plus shipping/insurance.
$475 for both plus shipping/insurance.

Oh my God, this is soooo tempting. I ordered a pair of cabinets a while ago and still haven't gotten them yet. I've been afraid of seeing an ad like this because I knew I'd be tempted to buy the ones in the ad and then put the ones I'm waiting on up for sale when they finally arrive. I should call Marc to get an update.

In the mean time, must resist ....... GAS becoming too powerful ..... need to be strong .....

They were Tom Bowlus' cabs, but I would not classify them as "old". They are mint.

I saw this on your eBay ad, too. Changed just for me

Every time you drop the price on these It gets more tempting, especially now that I'm looking for an 8 ohm cab.

Yeah....that's right! "Projects" makes more sense than "throws."

I figure I had these over priced before. And no kidding around, these are great....no....INCREDIBLE cabs for this price.

Dear Lord, people! I cannot believe that these cabs are not gone at this price! Yes, these are my "old" cabs, and they are quite the custom jobs. The shells are a thinner birch ply, but the size is down to that of the Rx line. They are nicely braced inside, and they have neo drivers. These things are seriously lightweight! You can practically play volleyball with that 1x15, but then you plug the sucker in and it has a very big sound! These cabs will handle tube amplification quite well, which I find very impressive.

Man, I may have to find some room in this basement and buy these back! Heck, I probably would, if I didn't know that I have some other cabs from Marc in my future.

These are great cabs for this price, people, and Bruce is a super quality guy to deal with, so no worries there.

Tom.

I sell bass gear like I fish. Lots of nibbles and strikes. Might even get a fish hooked, but I never seem to be able to get them in the boat.

BUMP!!

That's exactly the reason I haven't jumped on these yet either. Marc is making a pair of cabinets for me right now, but lately I've been getting pretty antsy while I'm waiting for them to be delivered (like these, they'll be pretty customized, which will make them uniquely *MINE* ).

The problem for me was that I bought a new head about two months ago and without cabinets I have nothing to play it through (I just have my combo) and I was getting seriously tempted to buy these just so I could finally try it out. Then when my cabinets finally arrived I was going to do a comparison of all four cabs, keep the pair I thought worked best together, and then sell the other two. But I spoke to Marc yesterday and got some very good news - he said he said he's shipping them next week. So assuming that happens I don't want to jump on these just yet.

Like I said to Bruce when I PM'd him earlier this morning, such is the G.A.S. game we play ...
