here we go, just in time for Xmas!
this specimen could use a tolex job, but i've seen much
worse. the frt face plate is scratched up (replaceable) otherwise, this amp needs nothing! everything
works! newer cap job. newer output tubes (winged C)
preamp tubes are orig Magnavox/GE/etc.
this one is early Magnavox (black rockers/toggle power
switch) maybe 1973? transitional. most Maggies you
see will be white rockers & rocker power switch.
wanna talk about loud? gut wrenching loud. actually
there is a huge amount of clean power here, with
a certain greasy element. up top, the highs are clearer
than my svt2, probably due to the vintage USA preamp tubes.
its my belief that every bass player should own one of
these, even if just for a short time, to know what its
like. the Harley Davidson of Bass amps...
i also think every bass player should have 2 heads, 1 being
an SVT. who cares what the other one is, long as its
portable
so lets go! who's ready to finally pony up & get that
keeper you have always wanted.
