Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) single 15 (San Diego) loaded or UNloaded

Sign in to disble this ad
Very solid 11 ply marine grade birch cabinet made by Eastern Acoustic Works. It has a brand spankin new Eminence Kappa Pro15LF 8 ohm driver. It has a tweeter cut out as well. (currently plugged)

I could sell it unloaded if you wanted to make it a subwoofer cab with a different speaker.

I'm in San Diego, a local sale would be great. I'm guessing it weighs in at 60 lbs. 19" X 19.5" X 24".

$250 plus shipping loaded
$150 unloaded plus shipping.

Did these come with different grille configurations? I have a mystery sub that looks just like this cab, with the exception that the ports on my cab aren't covered by the grille. No markings whatsoever. I thought mine was a Joe's Sound and Salami, but it's too lightweight.

If my cab is of the same make as this one, someone should be happy with it. Pumps bass like crazy, and lighter than you'd think.

Hi KFS, yes EAW produced some single 15 cabs that had a square grille that covered the speaker only, not the ports. Matter of fact I think I had one at one time. These older EAW cabs are very well made. The modest weight I believe is due to the fact that EAW used 5/8 instead of 3/4 material. Still very solid and braced internally. Thanks for the bump.

Thanks for the info, tn. These are solid and loud cabs. Mine is loaded with an EV 15L, and it goes like chocolate and peanut butter with my Sadowsky. Lots of punch and low end.

Oh yeah.....I had a EV15L in that box for awhile too. Too bad it was not ported correctly at the time. Glad yours is pumping! The Kappa thats in there now is much warmer and deeper sounding than the EV ever was, and I changed the porting accordingly. It's a solid sounding cabinet with lots of punch. I forgot to mention it has a hole cutout for a tweeter if someone wanted to add one. (presently the hole has a tight fitting black cover, you can hardly see it's even there.)
