EBS-1 Preamp FS

This is I believe the original incarnation of the EBS-1 preamp. This unit is in good, but not pristine, condition, and everything works right. There is a slight twist to one of the rack ears, which should be easy to bend into shape (see pic, below). It fits in a rack just fine as is. I'd like to get $425, shipped within the lower 48.

Boost and cut. Here is a link to the manual to the EBS-1 Classic, which I believe is pretty similar.

How would you say this compares in sound to the HD350 amp? Also, how would you rate the compatibility with your fEARful?

This preamp is just as clear as the HD350, but more warm, and not quite as bright. The EQ is pretty powerful, and those DIP switches really allow for a lot of control (including high-pass filtering). IME/IMHO, it would work great with a fEARful setup, but like everything else, choosing the right preamp is also a subjective thing, so YMMV.

Thanks for that info. You helped me make my decision in a roundabout way. I decided to give the EBS Reidmar a try as I'm not in need of to much power at my church gigs, and I just wanna' keep it simple for now. Also, I'm thinking I'd rather have the modern/bright tone of the newer EBS SS heads. Here's to hoping I can get the tone I'm chasing pairing it with my fEARful (keeping my fingers crossed).
