For Sale, EV B115-M
This is an early 2-way bass system designed by Electro-Voice. Features a 200 watt 15" cast frame EV15B woofer and a 6" VMR vented mid-range for the upper frequencies. It has a passive 2-way crossover with a four position high freq attenuator 0, -6, -12 (dB) and "off " to control the VMR output. Has two 1/4" speaker connections. It is "ruggedized" with aluminum edge protectors, steel grill and 3/4" plywood construction, it's almost indestructable. In 100% working order, the VMR was replaced many years ago and the cabinet has been virtually unused since (issue free). I did a simple mod for biamping and this can be easily undone upon request. I stopped biamping (too much equipment). Includes removeable casters.
I used to transport this in an old Honda hatchback back in the '80s doing the club circuit in town. The 'batmobile' is long gone so it's been time to find a home for this beauty (impossible to fit in my current ride). $150 weighs about 87 lbs, dimensions: 24.5"w x 28.5"h x 14"d. It's been reliable and is in very good condition, still sounds great, loved though unused for years.
Stanley Clarke used to endorse these back in the day.
Local pickup in Central California (I can bring it within an hour or so radius from Bako).
please contact me at gfongo@yahoo.com or pm.
Thanks, Glen

| | | | I played one of these back in "the day". I liked it a lot. Nice warm and even sound that could get aggressive if you wanted. Pretty efficient too if I remember correctly. $150 for one in good working condition is very good. |

The bass-specific drivers did not handle loads of power like today's drivers with high Xmax, but man, they sounded so good when loaded into a properly designed cabinet. They are all very efficient, so they don't need 1000 watts to sound good.
I've got a small cab loaded with an EVM-18B, and it's still one of my favorite cabs.
These old EV 2-way cabs were super nice, and largely forgotten now. Nice price on this one, too. Somebody give this cab a go- you'll be surprised how good they sound. |

| | | | I played on the 2x15 version of this for several years. It's still at my parents house. I always thought it sounded good. |

Still one of my fave cabs. Balanced, road-worthy. Nice touch with the casters.
The drivers alone are worth a buck and a half. I think the cab is 13-ply birch. EV never skimped. |

Yes, quite agree with the tone, it's defined my sound for the last 24 years (not with this cab the whole time, but along with my other EV loaded cabs). Still, a higher powered woofer like the 400 watt EV's that Mesa used were like extra insurance for avoiding a blown speaker.
I think Larry's right about the ply too. If I recall, it was void free as well.
Sincerely, Glen
