ElectroSonic C4 - Tube preamp with poweramp tube

SOLD! Thanks Muthafunk!

Hi Talkbass,

I bought this neat unit from NickyBass a few months ago and I'm realizing that I have too much stuff and this is not getting the love it deserves. I believe it was custom made for NickyBass by ElectroSonic when they were still around, so this is really a unique piece that can't be found anywhere else.

Here are the details of the unit:

1. It serves as a preamp. The signal passes through both a preamp 6SN7 tube and a 6V6 tube. This allows the highly coveted poweramp tone as you increase the gain to get a nice breakup that is quite harmonic. I was using it through my Orange ad200b to get a very similar tone to the isolated Jamerson tracks you can find on youtube.

2. It serves as a practice amp. There is an 8ohm output that can be plugged into a cab. I was using it as a practice amp for a while and I had no trouble hearing it and working with it through a 12" Ampeg cab with my p bass.

It's a wonderfully versatile preamp that could find a home feeding a power amp, thickening up the anemic signals on the modern class d amps or as a practice amp in a bedroom or living room. Here is NickyBass' original post: FS: ElectroSonic C4. Power tube tone in a preamp.

I'm asking $250US shipped for the unit and I will ship to Canada or the continental USA. I would also be happy to meet someone in or around Toronto. Paypal preferred. Please feel free to pm me with any questions.

Many thanks,
Dale.

I've had some questions about the dimensions of the unit. The dimensions are 9" wide, 7.5" high and 5" deep.

Please feel free to PM me with any other questions.
