Epiphone Valve JR w/ Exra Tubes

Up on the gammet is my Epi Valve JR. This is a pretty sweet amp, I'm just into more modern sounding equipment. This has a thunderous 5 watts of power! OK... A lot of people say these are not good on bass, however, I put in a Tube Amp Doctor EL84 power tube. This power tube makes this come alive with bass. I also included an EHX 12AY7, groove tubes 12ax7, and a groove tubes 12AT7. This is a great way to get into a tube amp for not a lot of cash. Also comes with power cord.

Huh? No good on bass? I have a stock Valve Jr. that sounds good. Now I just need a better speaker. My church has a Behringer 4x12 guitar cabinet that does okay, but lacks a good bottom end, obviously. I can definitely recommend this for a good practice rig or where you have good FOH support.

I think it's a great bass amp, but there are a lot of nay-sayers. I think upgrading the tubes makes a huge difference though.

This is just the head, no speaker included. I used an 8 ohm 1x10 that was probably about 150 watts.
