F/S Ampeg PBC-228 Combo: Excellent Condition

I had picked this up from a fellow TB’er back in November. Was looking for a single trip “carry in” combo for smaller church services and practices.

This is a great little "Made In U.S.A." tone box but I have decided to keep my Ampeg PortaBass PB-250 head/ PB112H cab rig for those lighter gigs.

This little tone box really can pump ‘em out for the scant 30 lbs or so that it weighs.

Has two separate channels that can be independently EQed which is handy if you are playing two basses at a gig.

quick question, have you ever tried this thing with a five string? If so, how does the low B sound?

No, I have not tried this with a 5 string. Previous owner may have. Suggest you PM him directly. Thank you for your interest.

I've gotten a couple queries on both of these questions but not owning either one myself, have no experience to honestly reply.

Anyone have experience using these Combos with:

1. an acoustic upright?

2. a 5 string with a LOW B?

Insight on this would be most helpful.
