I'm selling a 220-volt Crest LT-1000. I had to include it with my purchase of other equipment in order to get the best package price from a studio that closed its doors. 09/02/2009: BUT SEE LATEST UPDATE BELOW. It is used, but in excellent condition. Only a few, typical scratches from rack mounting.
According to Crest, it's safe operating range is from 200-264 VAC (50Hz). Its output ratings are:
8 ohms - 280 watts per channel
4 ohms - 500 watts per channel
2 ohms - 650 watts per channel
8 ohms - 1,000 watts
(bridged)
4 ohms - 1,300 watts
(bridged)
The LT series are great amps. They have linear power supplies with toroidal transformers. The LTs produce all the tone and gravitas of the CA series, but the LTs are 12-15 lbs. lighter. I use its larger brother, a 110-volt LT2000, and cannot tell the difference from a CA9. Here is a link to the specs and the Crest website picture: http://www.crestaudio.com/media/pdf/LT_Cutsheet.pdf
The price is $295.00 and I will ship it overseas, but the buyer pays all expenses and costs associated with packing and shipping. PayPal preferred. No trades. If there is no taker here in the next day or so, I will list it on eBay to broaden the international reach; but I'd rather sell it to a TBer! LATEST UPDATE! Crest is sending me a 110-volt transformer and power switch (see below), so you can now buy this amp as either a 110-volt or a 220-volt model!

Most amps are built to do both, it's just one wire that needs moving. I've done this mod a few times.

If you--or anyone else--knows otherwise, I'd be very interested.
Thanks.

Most amps are built to do both, it's just one wire that needs moving. I've done this mod a few times. | I spoke with the service department at Crest again today and they confirmed that the LT1000 does not have a dual tap transformer and, therefore, conversion from 220-volt operation back to 110-volt operation is not as simple as moving a wire. They are, however, sending me a 110-volt transformer and power switch which is what is necessary to effect the conversion.
With this development, I can now sell the LT1000 as either a 110-volt or a 220-volt amp. Thanks, Fluff, for spurring me to re-visit the issue.

If you like CLEAN, POWER, and QUIET, you cannot go wrong with this amp!
I just HAD to comment on this amp because it's an awesome amp.

(I'm sure you know this already, but just in case ... make sure you uprate the fuse too - 1/2 the volts means 2x the amps).

If it goes to a stateside (or other 110-volt) buyer, I'll make the swap if the buyer wants--and send before/after pics and test it fully before sending--or I'll include the extra transformer and breaker switch and let the buyer do it, if he or she prefers.
It's a really easy swap. The transformer screws in and has three plug-ins with color-coded wires. The breaker switch pushes into place and has only one plug-in. You don't even need to heat up a soldering iron.

The design alone tells me that Crest is all about user-friendly components, and when you couple that with the power, quiet operation, and reliability of their amps, this buy is a no-brainer. If I only had the cash.....

| | | | Can I ask what that transformer is costing you? I have an LT1000 with a smoked transformer. I was just trying to figure out what to do with it. An easy plug-in transformer replacement is sounding good to me. |
