THIS GENZ BENZ GBE1200 IS ONE OF THE BEST AMPS I'VE EVER OWNED. ITS IN PERFECT CONDITION, AND HAS NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER!! For those of you who are'nt familiar with the Genz Benz GBE1200.....Here's the scoop...
__________________________________________________ __
Wall-blasting power and pro tone with headroom to spare.

THE GENZ BENZ GBE1200 IS ONEOF THE BEST AMPS I'VE EVER OWNED/PLAYED. THIS ONE IS ALL YOU'LL EVER NEED, FOR 2-4 OHM CABS, OR 4 8 OHM CABS .THE GBE1200 bass amp takes the excellent design and tonal refinements of the GBE 600 and adds 1200W output power (at 2 ohms). Its ability to drive resistive and reactive speaker loads plus its extended burst power makes it louder, punchier, warmer and more articulate. The GBE 1200 is 3 rack units high with a beautiful 5mm-thick aluminum faceplate and curved metal rack handles. It has a dual channel preamp-one FET and one tube-with 5-band active EQ for maximum tonal flexibility. Each preamp can be used individually or blended together. In addition to the channel controls, it also has Genz Benz's Signal Shape circuit with Low Frequency Extension, Mid Scoop, and High Frequency Attack controls. The channels and Signal Shape circuit are footswitchable with an included 5-button footswitch.

The GBE 1200 delivers 550W at 8 ohms, 1000W at 4 ohms, and 1200W at 2 ohms. It has an active/passive selectable input, signal mute switch, tuner out, a soft-limit circuit, LED indicators, master volume, sturdy metal chassis, knurled aluminum knobs with detents, variable speed fan cooling, full-featured D.I., three effects loops, slave out jack, dual SpeakonŽ output connectors, POWERFLEX impedance circuit, impedance selector switch, dual voltage switch, and a heavy-duty toroidal transformer. 19"W x 5-1/2"H x 15"D. 42 lbs.

Powerflex impedance circuitry optimizes the massive power supply to more effectively deliver maximum power at 4 ohms and extended 2 ohm operation into reactive loads. A large switch on the rear panel is provided so that the amplifier can be switched to correctly match the total cabinet impedance load. A front-panel amber LED indicator indicates when the Powerflex feature is switched to 2 ohm operation.

Genz Benz GBE 1200 Bass Amp Features:

550W @ 8 ohms/1000W @ 4 ohms/1200W @ 2 ohms
FET and 12AX7-based tube channels individually selectable, blendable, and footswitchable
Active/passive input
Signal mute switch
Front- and rear-panel tuner out jacks
Active 5-band EQ on each channel (footswitchable)
Signal Shape Circuitry w/LF Extend, Mid Scoop, HF Attack (footswitchable)
Soft limit circuit
Comprehensive amplifier status LED's
Master volume
Sturdy 3-space metal chassis
5mm-thick aluminum faceplate
Heavy-duty toggle on/off switch
Sleek, ergonomic amp handles
Solid aluminum knurled knobs
Premium detent pots
Variable speed fan cooling (thermally controlled)
Heavy-duty 5-button footswitch

The GBE 1200 boasts versatility, power, and tone.... It's ready for whatever you can throw at it. SEND ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE!

peace , DAcat

Third party endorsement

I owned one of these for about a year. I would have kept it, but it was just overkill for my church band and I already have a GBE750.

This is the equivalent of a high-powered Detroit V8. Really excellent control of your cab's drivers for tight, focused, but powerful low end. Nice that it has the EZ-sleeve too. I have one for my GBE750. I only use GB now.

ShuttleMAX 6.0 / Neox 112t

GBE750 / Neox 212t

...Good question. Mesa Boogie Titan V12 GAS..."Tom Bolus Syndrome"(I just want to try everything out that Tom thinks is great and he's given this amp very high marks...so thats really a complement, Tom)...but seriously I've wanted to try this amp out ever since it came out and there is no Mesa dealer nearby who has one to try...I've researched it, and almost got one before I got my GBE1200...I recently picked up a Mesa Boogie Walkabout and I really like my Walkabout's tone since I got it.... and I've heard that I can also get that tone from the Titan...so I'll give it a whirl and pulled the trigger on one yesterday. But I do wish I could keep my great GBE1200 because I love it too...its the best of the big hybrid amps I have used up until now, but my wife would feel that I'm stockpiling too much of our $ assetts in music equipment if I kept it in addition to the Titan...besides, both these amps hold thier value and I can always go back to the GBE1200 if I decide I liked the GBE 1200 better than the Titan. But I'm really an Obsessive-tone-freak, I obsess over and over about it...then when I get it just how I like it... when we gig, I have to change all my settings around again. My Ibanez SR800 fretless also sounds a lot different than my Mtd 4 string fretted bass tonally so the two channels will allow me to have 2 seaprate tube Preamp channels so I can have each channel set differently for each instrument...or maybe I can set one channel the way I like it at home and the other the way I like it with the band...then adjust for room variables at each gig as needed...an obsessive tone freaks ultimate fantasy...hopefully.At least I'm aware that I have the problem . Peace...DAcat

I can totally relate, except with me it is between my Titan and my DB750. I can't seem to part with either. I owned a GBE1200 for a few months and it is right up there in the same class with these two amps - it just wasn't my tone, but it had more options and HP than anyone could need!

Hey Frankie...Funny you should mention that DB750...I have only played one once in a store on vacation out in LA briefly...and I can't remember if its the truth or my imagination but it really sounded buttery even at high volume...I just did'nt know if it would get lost in the mix or not...but I was workin on a deal for one yesterday before my deal with the Titan became a reality. To have one of each...that would be nice, or maybe overkill...maybe only Tom Bowlus could say...sorry Tom, just kidding ! Peace...DAcat

Actually, it's both (nice, and overkill).

Wow, I have never, EVER thought of the King Aggie getting lost in the mix. It is a sledgehammer, and I drive a ten-piece band with it. It is my go to choice.

Well, its been a few years and I only played the DB750 for a short period in a music store, and like I said my memory for it is'nt crystal clear, so I never got a true reading of it , but, Frankie my man...I trust you ...I can't wait to try one in a live situation...but in the meantime-I'd like to sell this GBE1200 soon...make me an offer....Peace...DAcat

Someone sent me a pm about posting a pic of the footswitch...well I don't have time this am...maybe tonight if its still here...but it looks brand new...see GB web site, and it has foot switches for running the Tube Channel/SS Channel/or both channels simultaneously blended(with separate tone and volume on the amp), and 3 buttons for Signal Shape Circuitry with 1) LOW FREQUENCY EXTEND, 2) MID SCOOP, and 3) HIGH FREQUENCY ATTACK ...all on a 3"x9" Footswitch with blue lights to indicate on/off. All Pms replied to, still available. Peace...DAcat
