How do these compare to SVT's volume wise? It is a tube power section, correct? What does it weigh?

I haven't played an SVT so I can't comment on that but the weight is 33lbs and the power amp section is solid state.

...yes, but 300 Trace Elliot watts will kick the ass of 900 SWR watts...Trace uses a different power rating system, which is very conservative.

They are loud as hell, but the pre-amp is closer to an Alembic F1-X in design and sound- and while it will get nice and dirty, they don't get the full-on gnarly wool that an SVT can do. Personal preference, I'd rather gig with the Trace, lighter and more control.

Great amp, GLWTS!

I was using this head in our practice studio with a 4ohm 2x15 cab on half volume with a 5 string bass no problems at all and still had more volume left.
I have to wear full foam ear plugs with this band to give you an idea of how loud this head can get.
