F/S Yorkville XS400H hybrid head

I'm thinning the herd a bit and this is the one head I just don't use as often anymore. So, here's a fine quality XS400H head. Asking $350 shipped CONUS... or make me an offer. (Non CONUS shipping, let's talk...)

These are great heads, flexible tone, quite powerful, and (from guys who have bench-tested it), very conservatively rated power-wise. I've heard (but not personally verified) it tests closer to 450W

Mine is in great shape, racked for it's entire life, so no dings/scratches at all. It also comes with a Yorkville two-button footswitch plus cable to turn on/off the effects loop and tube drive. I bought those after the fact (i.e., they're not included when it was sold new and ran me $25-ish if I'm not mistaken). So, they're a freebie to sweeten the deal. It is out of warranty, but this is a head that's built to last.

Will post pics later tonight, but if you see a pic on the interwebz, well, this one looks the same.

Ships in original box (footswitch will ship separately though; amp box doesn't accommodate that). Paypal only; not looking for trades (except perhaps some deal that includes a Mesa Walkabout 12" extension cab or a FoxRox Octron).

Here's the Yorkville info:
* 400W output 4 ohm (250W at 8 ohm)
* Preamp with a 12AX7A tube to fatten your sound
* Parallel tube overdrive circuit
* Wet/Dry balance control
* Switchable limiter and compressor have user-definable threshold control
* Improved 5-band equalizer has semi-parametric mid with user-definable frequency
* Continuously-variable Scoop control
* Front panel Wet/Dry control for effects return
* Footswitchable tube overdrive
* Footswitchable effects return
* Tuner mute switch
* Pre/post selectable tube DI output
* Speakon and 1/4" extension cab outputs

Product Description

Yorkville equips this 400W head's preamp with a 12AX7A tube to fatten your sound then adds a parallel tube overdrive circuit to thicken your tone even more. A Wet/Dry balance control lets you blend the exact proportions of clean and overdriven signal you want. The switchable limiter and compressor have user-definable threshold control for even more shaping possibilities.

The improved 5-band equalizer has a semi-parametric mid with user-definable frequency and is complemented with a continuously variable Scoop control. Other pro features include a front-panel Wet/Dry control for the effects return, footswitchable tube overdrive, footswitchable effects return, tuner mute switch, and a pre/post selectable tube DI output.

Speakon and 1/4" extension cab outputs give you flexible connection options.

still need to post pics. The AL-TX game tonight might interfere, but have no fear, it looks pretty much new.

How does the overdrive sound on these? I've played one before and loved the tone, but I didn't get to full around enough to play with the drive.

It's can sound very tube-driven/dirty, very clean, or anywhere in between. The tube drive has a separate gain and a mix knob for a very flexible tone.

I am not an Ampeg owner, so I can't compare it to something like those, though I'm told it can do a good job of sounding Ampeg like. It's one of the better amps I've played through.

You might check out the Yorkville/Traynor club thread too for other comments, or the HC reviews.

Hope this helps
