Thumbs up Feeler: 1968 Traynor YBA mark II

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got this today in a trade. Just want to see what people would offer. I'm thinking $600 shipped. Trades are welcome.

Works great. Had new Groove tubes put in 5 months ago. The amp is all-tube. It is missing the Traynor name-plate on the front, and is a little beat up. But hey, it's from '68, what do you expect? Works great though.

Has 4 inputs. 2 low, 2 high. obviously low is for bass and high is for guitar. Two separate volumes as well for each set of inputs. Cool amp.

Gk cab not for sale.

Might want to read the rules a bit... specifically:
If you post a "feeler" ad, you MUST post a price with it. This is not an auction site - If you want people to "bid" on your item, take it to ebay. Trade feeler threads are allowed, but if it turns into a FS thread, seller MUST post a price or the thread will be immediately closed or deleted.

and

TB rules in the Classified Section specify that you may bump your ads, but only under these conditions :

- No more than one bump per 24 hour period
- All previous bumps MUST be deleted

Can't decide! Gah!

If anybody wants to trade a Mesa 400+ I'd be more than happy.

I thought that was like a 90 watt amp... How red do the plates on the power tubes glow when you crank it?

2X EL-34... 50W. I think they came with mullards originally.

You are right they were rated at 90 watts. Quite a few that I've seen came stock with 6CA7's in them. The big Hammond x-formers in those old traynors are brutes.

EL84s at their maximum plate voltage (300V) put out 17W each in class AB amps. This amp might put out 34W...

Edit: Just verified with "The Tube Amp Book" by Aspen Pittman

Uh, nothing really comes to mind...

Just did a bit of googling... doesn't seem that there's really a direct swap that will buy you any more power. Not without changing at the very least sockets, if not transformers as well...

Nope... Wrong Guy Sorry About That

I Met A Fellow In Louisville & Traded My Traynor Off.

That Amp Looks Identical To The Traynor YBA-1A Mark II That I Used To Have.

Small World!

I assume I bought it from that guy.

Did you have problems with it fuzzing up like crazy once it got to 12 o'clock.

Maybe it's the fact I'm playing a 410. Do I need bigger speakers?
