SWR RedHead: Pre-Fender in excellent condition.
This is the 2nd generation with brand new Eminence Delta B's

The latches were removed on the cover in lieu of Bungee cables which are far more secure.

This amp has been taken care of extremely well and sounds great.

I hear the SWR era Super Rehead is preferable to the Fender era Super Redhead. Any thoughts???

Has the head ever had any issues?

Redhead

This amp has been rock solid! I had one issue with a speaker and had to replace it and went ahead and swapped them both out with Eminence D's just to have a matched set.
(I like uniformity ) Sounds Great!!!

As for any difference between the older vs newer .... I rehearse from time to time in a studio with all gear provided and they have a newer (Post Fender Aquistion) Redhead and a Hartke 1-12 kickback.
I can't get a good sound out of the newer one no matter what I do. It's so dry and barky. I always wind up using the Hartke. And ..... this is after running my USA Lakland Bob Glaub P/J bass with Aguilar preamp into it!!!!! Go figure .....

I have to admit I am surprised in the difference and would have never expected that but hey .... sometimes I guess that happens when companies trade hands .... who knows.
I can't say this is across the board but it certainly has been my experience in this event.

Anyway .... that is my 2 cents on the situation and thanks for asking!

Red

Oh my goodness folks .... this is a really nice rig. I just want to go modular and this does have a little weight to it.

OK .... I'm open to suggestions ..... maybe a Genz Benz 6.0, SWR SM400 or make an offer and I will see if it's feasible for me.

Thanks

Ahh Redhead

I think I want a Redhead. I don't have the money right now, but if it's available in a month, I'll pick it up.

shuttle

Dude,

I've got the shuttle 6.0 in church with an aguilar 410. It is really kool. Not quite as good sounding as my amp 400 or as loud, but still a great little unit. And talk about light? OMG!. Thinking about about maybe getting a shuttle 9.0 for my wedding band gig. Carrying gear thru hotels
kitchens ain't a lot of fun at 50 years old.

If you're going modular, consider aguilar, dr bass or maybe swr golight cabs with shuttle.
What's your main use for the modular rig?
