Feeler: FS/FT VIntage Polytone 101 bass amp, great condition. Local
I have a vintage Polytone Bass amp (mid-late vintage70s), in pretty amazing condition for an amp that age. I can provide more specs but for now it's 180 watts, with one 15' and two 8". These are rare and I'm pretty sure it's all original, with an excellent original cover and casters This is transistor, among the earlier good ones, about 55 lbs.
Everything works as it should. Speakers sound. Cosmetically 9/10. Two issues: Cord 3-prong upgrade was spliced into cord and one volume pot cracked so knob sits crooked but secure. Otherwise, this is in great shape all around
Hard to find info on these, but they seem to be well regarded. Very solid as a bass amp and, I've recently discovered, quite nice as a guitar amp (two channels, four inputs).
Here's an old TB thread that sings its praises. (Mine is same era but has the extra two 8s). THere are other threads out there.
More photos coming
Probably looking for $350. Local pickup only. ONly trade would be a light 115 cabinet. I'd add cash for the right Bergantino or Markbass (especially the NY115).

Doesn't seem to be much interest or curiosity about this one. Can anyone who has or has played through one weigh in? Like to know what you think or have heard
I'll keep it up for a while but may just need to keep this one.

I owned a Polytone Taurus, cool amp. Good tone, very underrated.

I played through one of these in a studio a few decades ago. Remarkable amplifier. If I was in the market for a combo, this would be it. GLWTS.

Thanks for the input. I've read they are great for recording. I've seen a few threads on this one and Polytone in general. Will try to track them down and post.

I"ll consider offers and possible trade offers but may just keep this for vintage appeal. I just like looking at it.

My school used to have a Polytone that looked pretty similar- not sure if it was the exact model. It was pretty loud and very rich sounding for a solid state head.

Thanks guys. You are right about the tone. I've using it for practice and liking the tone and the power, at 180 watts. I'm going to try it with an EQ pedal tonight and see what else I can get out of it. I play some 6 string and my strat sounds pretty darn good through this even though it's labeled a bass amp. The two 8s give it a nice clean sound.
I'll keep this up through the weekend for final local interest then I"ll just keep it.
Thanks to all who gave input. I will try to post a few links about Polytone today.
