up for trade or sale one thunderfunk 550-b. it has the switch and it functions well as a PREAMP ONLY!!!!! it was damaged in shipping by our good friends at F&*-#% so I sent it to dave funk who told me it would be $75 to fix before he got, it after he got it he said it would be about $575 or so to fix. So I asked him to remove the damaged power amp section, which he did and there you have it one thunderfunk preamp. I am asking $340 shipped!!!! or a trade of some sort run your trades by me the worst I can say is no pics to come.

It would be cool if Dave offered a preamp version of the TF. I and others have suggested it to him, but nothing so far. This would essentially be it.

Man, you should get one of the really tech-savvy guys in the amps forum to install one of those compact ultralite switching-supply amp modules. It seems do-able, and if so you'd end up with a TF that was lighter weight and probably much higher wattage.

it only weighs 16 pounds as it is.. how much lighter do you guys need..
Dave let me hear a protoype of an amp he was working on using his preamp into one of those super lightweight class D amps.. the original thunderfunk power amp section that was about 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches heavier has WAYYY more focus and punch...
