Fender Bassman 1200 in TKL case w/footswitch

This is a Fender Bassman 1200 rackmount bass amp. Its the same amp as the Sunn 1200s, but with the upgrades to the electronics. Its 1200 watts @ 2ohms and 750 watts @ 4 ohms with 4 speaker outputs on the back. It is great physical and operating condition. Its the same font end as the Fender 300 pro and the Sunn 300T, just without the tube power section and the weight! Comes in a 2U TKL case with the footswitch. Has tons of power and tone for days with a blendable clean and tube OD channel, graphic EQ that is very well voiced, compression and more. The amp has had one mod done to it which is to replace the hardwired built in power cord with a removable plug like most other amps. The previous owner had it done, I believe the original cord had gotten sliced and this was a way to make sure any future cord problems could be resolved easily. Also it will save space in the rack since its a deep amp and had a LONG cord. When you look at the rear of the amp, next to the now removable power cord, there is a place to the left where the hardwired power cord entered previously. It left an opening in the chassis that is covered with a metal plate.

basically this has been the backup to my backup ( or the practice room amp) Ive got a Fender 300, picked up a Sunn 1200s to have a lighter version, and then decided that I REALLY liked the lighter weight and that if it ever died I wanted a spare... well that leaves me with 3 amps with the same tone.... DOH!

I have the same amp .... one thing that hasn't been talked about, you don't have to crank those amps to get a good sound out of them

ok.. final PRICE DROP!! $550 shipped in the 48 and $525 local.
I kinda gotta sell it now..... and this is a good bit less than I picked it up for and less than its worth if ya ask me... had alot of questions on it.... but now lookin for someone who really wants it!..Strangely if I put the Sunn version up they seem to disappear in seconds for $700-$750 when its the same amp.

heres some more pics, cos some folks were wondering about the condition, and the power cord mod. so you can see it and the one bad screw on the case. The amp is in nearly perfect condition.

YEP! The SUNN 1200 was made by fender, and when they discontinued the SUNN line they put the Fender logo on it.. Same features, same power, same tone, everything. I know, I have both.

The ONLY thing different is that the Sunn version was known to have some kinda heat issue that would cause problems. Fender fixed this when they changed the badge on em. Green circuit boards ( as can be seen thru the front grills ) denote the old specs, the red board denotes the new...

its a hybrid and its a little heavy for a rack amp.. I think its 36 lbs... but hella lighter than the all tube 300 pro that I sometimes schlep!

why did you choose to keep the sunn and sell the fender? if they are the same and the fender has fixed the overheating problem wouldnt that be the better choice to keep?

im interested but really ? as to why you want to sell this one
