** WALKABOUT SCOUT IS SOLD, EXTENSION CAB STILL UP FOR GRABS **
'Tis a sad time indeed. Plans to re-locate east and possibly across the Atlantic to be closer to my old lady's parents are forcing me to sell off my gear. One by one, little by little, my heart will surely break but – I gotta do it.
First up is the Mesa. Man I love this amp. In my ex-band's jam space I'd hook the Walkabout head up to a 4x10 GK, and for gigs I'd rock it in the 12" Scout cab with another 12" for double 12" awesomeness. On our cross-Canada tour I only brought the head and used it with my buddy's Ampeg 4x10 and melted faces. That really is one of the main pluses of owning a well designed amp like this – that in about 1.5 minutes with a screwdriver, you can take the head out and shlep it around and use it with whatever backline is provided, knowing you'll get your sound. In most any config it sounds sweet and has earned me a lot of compliments on tone. It's so good it makes my brother's basement junker bass sound like the real deal.
I got this amp used back in 07 from a guy that owned it for a year, so I guess that puts the manufacturing date in the 05/06 area depending on how long it sat in the store before he bought it. This is the 12" 4ohm version with 300w, a tube preamp, parametric EQ, DI out with level control, horn adjust on rear, weighs only 50 lbs... all that useful stuff. Cosmetically I put it at a solid 8/10. There are scuffs and wear markings here and there but nothing that screams out. Overall it's been as well kept as I could manage.
I'm also including the 12" cab I used under the Scout for gigs. I bought it off a savvy old gentleman who built it himself, one of these people who's living rooms look like guitar repair shop. It's rated at 200w at 8 ohms, which when paired with the Scout brings the ohms down to 2.67 and the wattage up to 400+ which is safe to do with the Walkabout heads (there are many threads on TB about people doing this regularly and safely). Black tolex, black plastic corners, front ported, top handle, weighs a mere 37 lbs (which coincidentally is what the Scout weighs by itself). It sits a touch larger than the Scout which provides a sturdy base for it to sit on. Please note that this cab is hornless.
$1000 CAN + shipping via Canada Post for the whole rig. Slightly cheaper if you're cool with using Greyhound. Packing and Paypal at my expense. I'll consider splitting these up, just PM me.
Cheers.
