I'm selling a 1963, Ampeg Portaflex B-15N. It's serial number indicates that it was built in June of 1963. I have only recently acquired the amp as part of a barter and I would like to sell it before I get too attached.
It shows it age, but still works and has the beautiful warmth the B-15 is known for.
As far as any issues with it: the amp needs to be recapped to get rid of hum and it probably should be converted to a 3-prong power cable. The speaker (original) should probably be reconed. The cable and caps are about $50 in parts and a recone is about $60 (Both can be found at fliptops.net). I would do it myself, but don't have the time. That's why I priced the amp accordingly.
The transformers and tubes re good. Both channels work, the EQ's work, both volumes work, all switches and toggles do their jobs.
I'm willing to meet a buyer anywhere in a 2 hour radius of NYC. I'm also willing to ship at buyers expense.
I would like a quick sale, so I'm asking $1000. Shipping out of the NYC area would be around $100, hit me up with your ZIP and i can get a specific price.
