I thought I'd post these here...as well as locally and a couple small sites that I frequent (I HATE eBay ). Hopefully they'll sell off Craigslist, as shipping isn't cheap. The price is the same as in the link - $450.00 PLUS shipping. I'd guess shipping may be in the neighborhood of $50.00 each in the Mid-West (I live in Kansas City). PayPal IS welcome. Lack of model name, details, pics, etc. generally doesn't scream "buy me!".

In your CL ad, when you say:

I think I speak for the rest of us when I say what the heck are you talking about? I mean no offense, I just don't know what's "custom" about an Avatar cab and what you are doing designing it. I once emailed them to ask if I could get a cab with metal handles instead of plastic and was nearly laughed at, I couldn't fathom them designing a custom cab. Not to mention, how do you vary the tone of a cabinet? It can only reproduce what it's been given. Maybe something was lost in translation?

To clarify: This cab started out as a G112 (cube guitar cab). I feel I'm being fair when I claim mods were after research and gained insight/advice from a tech for the speaker manufacturer after running it through his computer program. We're all aware that there's more to a speaker cab than plywood and speakers...they have to work in harmony to attain the desired sound and performance capability of a large stage situation. Having played for 40 years, and owned a wide range of quality equipment (including much of what NKUSigEp has on his gas list), I believe I understand what qualifies - though I'm always open to new and/or better educated and experienced thought.

Specifics: I arrived (after changing my original choice of insulation) with what I presented in the ad - a flexible small footprint cab that's capable of a larger and more focused sound than many small cabs exhibit. The cost of components was NEVER an issue. The advice received (considering inside dimensions) helped me settle on 2 - 3" ports 4.5" in depth - and there was 2 lengthy calls on my dime to to the tech, as well as thoughts by a couple local sound company owners I know.

I'm more than pleased with the results. In "real world" application - they're what I set out to achieve, and I've received many compliments from players I respect who wouldn't sugar coat their opinions.

Point: I put together cabs that handle my needs and wishes. I haven't toured in years, but still play large stages (from time to time), yet most of my work is in medium sized clubs. I'd still be using them, but a friend passed away and 2 mint older, non-neo Epifani 1-12" cabs were made available to me. These have serial numbers below 850, and represent the finest work Nick put out there, IMO and IME. The wife is on me about how much space my gear consumes, so a few items went on the block. IF they don't sell I don't care...I don't need the money, just the space.

Don't like my link, justification of description or anything else? Thats OK - everyone's entitled to post here. That said...we all know what opinions are like

On your CL post it says shipping weight is 18 lbs...is that for both, or each one??? Either way, that's impressive. Any chance you come up to Nebraska ever or would consider meeting somewhere? My Carvin 210 blew up on me (probably because I was feeding it 700 watts) and I'm looking for a small portable replacement. Don't always want to lug around the 810 and the 80lb tube amp.

The shipping weight your referring to is the weight of the actual speakers in the cabs i believe. The weight of each cab is about 43lbs each per the first paragraph.

Thank you for your interest! I don't, however, have the time (or inclination, to be fair) to drive to Nebraska - not even half way. My life is pretty tightly structured, and any free time is spent with family of just good ol' rest and relaxation. I trust you understand. I see you now grasp the weight issue. The cabs do have a small footprint, but 18 pounds would be too good to be true! At least you have a backup cab for the time being...back breaker that it is. Good fortune to you

Thanks for getting back to me. Totally understand the tightly structured part...I'm pretty much the same way with extra time towards family. I think my father-in-law might be making a trip to MO sometime within the next month. I'll check into it.
