I love this head and the only reason I am wanting to part with it is because my wife decided to part with me and I need to pay the bills. I prefer a local deal or nearby. If it isn't a close sale then it will be shipped in pieces with the tubes removed in a separate box. Its a genuine Fender Bassman Blackface with the very desirable AA864 circuit. Only made a for few months, which makes it kind of rare. It is original un-modded circuitry in the head with replaced tubes. It is production 76, made in December of 1964. The only thing replaced on the amp besides the tubes, are the caps, and a line out was installed with a dummy load on the 2nd speaker channel for use without a cab (I have been using it primarily for recording bass and this is the sh*t for it). It can be undone really quick if you prefer. I do have to say this thing is pristine with hardly a tear in the tolex. $700 shipped. paypal ok conus only.

Sorry to see such a beautiful amp for sale for all the wrong reasons.
As far as the trade goes; I can guarantee the 1st 2 points can happen with hard work; there is no guarantee for the 3rd.

I have the same amp (1964 pre-CBS blackface with a 2x12 cab). If you're absolutely sure you want to let it go, you'll probably get a heck of a lot more money from a guitar player than you will from a bass player for this head. Before the recession hit hard, I was offered almost $3,000 for my head and cab by a guitar player; not sure what the current market value is.
