I'm putting up for sale my Acoustic Image Clarus SIII. This is a small integrated amplifier that offers a clear, warm sound that works well with acoustic instruments as well as electric.

It's a sub five pound amp that puts out 400 watts into 4 ohms and 500 watts into 2 ohms. The amp can accept either a quarter inch input or an XLR. It has a three band eq, notch or low cut filter, parallel effects loop with a blend control and an XLR balanced out with a pre / post eq selector.

The amp is in absolute mint condition. I'm selling this amp, gig bag and speakon to quarter inch speaker cable for $400 which includes shipping and insurance. No trades on this one, sorry.

This is a tremendous deal for a great head. I own one just like it and it is everything that is claimed: small, light, reliable and quite warm for solid state. Add 2-ohm operating capability and the fact that it's made in the USA and there is not, IMHO, a micro head from MarkBass, Genz-Benz, Euphonic Audio, Eden or anyone else that compares. The Seller's $400 price is ice cream in addition to the icing on the cake.

Put this head in the pocket of your gig bag, pair it with a good 1x12, 1x15 or 2x10 and you have a single-trip load in that fits in most subcompact cars. There is no way this should still be here.

How old is the amp?
Are you original owner?
Does it still have transferable warranty?
What's the story if you just use one 8 ohm speaker? I assume it works fine, but what's the wattage?
Does your asking price including shipping to CONUS?

To answer your first three questions first, I am the second owner and I've had it since November of 2007. The age could not be much older than that as I don't believe the Series III had been out that long at the time.

Regarding the warranty, here's their policy:

As a general statement, during the first five years, we will repair for free or replace (at our option) any of our products if they are not functioning as they should. Beyond that, we will fix any of our products without charge no matter how old they are. Both commitments apply whether you are the first owner or the fifteenth.

What Blusey Soul said (thanks), it puts out 250 watts into 8 ohms.

I've used it with an SWR Goliath II Jr. (4 ohms), Epifani SI 1x12 (8 ohms) and Epifani SI 4x10 (4 ohms). It's worked with all these cabs both standalone and in various combinations.

And I've also used the head with electric and acoustic guitar.

My take is that it warms up and amplifies your instrument. If your instrument sounds good, this amp will make it louder. I felt the eq on the amp was to adjust for the room not to give your instrument a new sound.

Plus I really liked the notch filter (one room I play just booms on C notes; the notch gets rid of the boom).

The price includes shipping and PayPal is preferred.
