For sale is a hardly used (by me!) ADA MB-1 pre with footswitch. $275 shipped.
Version 2.05
I have no midi cable, but I powered up the footswitch, and banking thought the buttons changes the digits on the footswitch display accordingly. The power supply I have for the footswitch isn't matched to it, but I'll include it. On the back of the ADA there is a midi connector that says phantom power over it, so it's possible that the footswitch could be powered that way. (??) Anyone that knows for sure, please feel free to chime in. The footswitch has a bit of scuffing on the front edge as shown in the pic, and the unit has some light rackrash on top, but the front is blemish free.
Here's the deal with the shipping, I'm an American working with the U.S. Military in Germany. (unit is in fact 110v in case you were wondering) We have a valid U.S. Post office on base, so shipping will be via USPS only. I can't do FedEx, or UPS, etc. As such, from the time I ship it, it could take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks to arrive. If that's not acceptable, please don't buy it. I'll ship to all 50 states, plus any military APO/FPO addresses.
I'm not overly interested in trades, but it can never hurt to ask. |

They make 7-pin midi cables where the extra 2 pins carry phantom power from a unit to the footswitch. If I recall correctly, the MB-1 has this feature...as do most Rocktron rack units.
Makes setup pretty easy.
Also, bump for a really great preamp. Underrated, for sure. |

| | | It depends on where exactly overseas is. Germany would be no problem, for example. I'm not against the idea.
Turning it into 220v... I don't know. The unit says 117VAC and has a permanantly connected American style power cord. I suppose a good tech could do that for you, but that would be entirely up to you. I'd be selling you a working 117V unit, what you choose to do with it after you get it is up to you. |

Not a fan of this kind of preamps (too much buttons!) but I hope it helps. |

| | | Thanks for the info Triad. For the record, that's how I use all of my gear. I'm an American living in Germany. All of my gear is U.S. Spec, so 110v. I use a Step down transformer. I plug that into the German wall outlet, and it has a 110v american style plug on it that i plug my power conditioner into. Then all my rack gear goes into the furman. So, it's one more piece of gear for me to lug around. Not too bad considering the price of gear that's bought locally. I'll test drive the stuff at the local shop, then mail order it from the states, thank you very much. |

| | | | 24 hours until I take it to the bay. Any offers, cash or gear, now would be the time. I can't promise I'll take them, but I promise I'll think about it! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
