Up for sale is my Alembic SF-2 Superfilter. It was sent back to Alembic by the previous owner and modified to have an on/off switch added on the front. There are a couple of faint marks on the bottom of the unit (see picture) but that's it. The previous owner took excellent care of the unit as have I. It's been racked in my house the entire time I've owned it. Never gigged, never been around smoke, etc. It's never been out of my house actually. It's basically mint.
Comes with a power adapter, original owners manual (believe it or not these are even rarer than the units) as well as the original receipt from when the unit was sent back and modified by Alembic. (I've blanked out the identifying info of the previous owner on the picture of the receipt since I assume they wouldn't want their personal info plastered on the internet.)
I dug around here in the forum to find the last time one of these was put of for sale but I didn't see anything and I stopped looking when I hit threads from 2008 so suffice to say that these don't pop up very often. I think most folks who get one just end up requesting that it be buried with them. I know I looked almost every day for over a year before I came across this one.
FS only. (Sorry not interested in trades at this time) Paypal verified only please. $675 shipped CONUS
Whats the superfilter do? Never seen one of those before!
It's a rare bird. It's pretty much a tone shaping monster. I always used it in mono mode which means I had access to two filters plus dry signal with an independent volume for each that allowed me to blend as much or as little of each part of the 3 signals. Here are a few links to descriptions that I thought were pretty accurate...
Tone shaping from another planet - that's how BP described this unit.
Would have been nice to have had one to add a bit of midrange with my F-1X.
That's how I used mine. I put it after my F1-X for tone tuning.
EDIT: If anyone is curious I thought the amount of tone control provided by the SF-2 worked best when I placed it after my F1-X rather than in the effects loop. Once the F1-X had done it's job of adding tubey goodness then the SF-2 took that sound and shaped it as needed. Very handy.
