Selling my beloved Ampeg B-15s.

This is the 60 watt version. Used but not abused. 1st version with toggle switches. I've owned it since 1995. New tubes (I also have the original 7027A power tubes). Serviced twice in the last 16 years. Includes original tilt-back peg and after-market dolly. Just loaded it with a brand new Eminence Beta 15A. I also have the original Altec 421 but it needs a recone (+$50). see below

$1200

Pickup only as this thing weighs 130+lbs.

I'm in Brooklyn, NY 11220

Bump.

Just pulled the Altec 421 out of storage and voilą! It tests fine. I don't know why I though this driver was blown... anyway. I am loading it back into the amp today to do some more tests... make sure it's not rubbing or buzzing.

If this is the case then I will include the original Altec 421 (8H) with the amp. The Eminence is going into something else at the studio. Also, if all is good with the Altec I will have to stay firm on the $1300 price.

Bump.

Will be testing this out tomorrow. Getting some proper mounting screws.

I'm also lowering the price... for now. I really need to sell this thing.

Free bump and good luck.

I just picked up an Ampeg V4B cab and someone is locally selling 2 Altecs. This may be a stupid question, but Do you happen to know if there have to be any adjustments to the cross-over to use the 421 8B H Series II in a bass cab (as opposed to a PA system)?

Thanks, DM

Shouldn't be any Xover in a bass cab.

I had a 70's loaded with the stock 421 8A drivers. Great sounding drivers. I loaded the cab with some mismatched JBL;s and traded it for my first Peavey MegaBass head, At the time I had no way to move the V-4B around and was glad to have it gone.

I dropped my 421-8A's into a pair of Thiele boxes I had built for me by some old REO roadies that had a music store in Champaign Urbana back in the late 70's. Much easier to haul. Love the bright punch of the Altec driver.

Good luck with the sale of your Ampeg rig. They are sweet.
