FS: Ampeg SVP-CL / $380 Shipped

Okay, I'll admit....I've OD'd on pre's, proc's, and rackmount stuff in general. Something has got to go!

Up for grabs is my recently acquired SVP-CL (CL as in clean!) preamp. Its in good cosmetic condition (rack scratchs on top / bottom and missing two lid screws) and good working condition with the following exception:

The rear-mounted mute switch jack has a corrupted contact which, when up to temp, will kick the unit into "mute" mode if left vacant. This is a common fault as I've learned from fellow TBer's. Here are 3 ways to circumvent the problem:

1) Insert a shorted 1/4" plug.

2) Insert an instrument cable and latching foot pedal (my favorite and functional).

3) Insert an earplug. Not sure how / if it works but the contributor swears it does!

I've looked into having it repaired but given to / fro shipping, bench fees, and the possibility of damage in transit, I've decided just to live with it as many other owners have.

How's $380 shipped sound? For those of you familar with my MO, the argyle socks are required for quality photography and not included in the deal. I make every attempt to include them much as Playboy discretely posts the "bunny" logo on each and every cover.

Thanks for looking!

Riis

Great deal! I've always wanted to try one of these out, but whenever they come around, I never seem to have the cash...

Will also consider trades for a top-notch rack mounted wireless unit + $$ (if warranted). Don't know much about them but I see the X (?) wireless series is highly recommended as are Sennheiser, AT, etc.
