SOLDGreat Ampeg head that has been kept in this rack it's whole life. The head is in great shape, the only wear on it is in the ears where the screws go into the rack. This SVT3 Pro is American made, I believe it is a later 90's model (I am the 2nd owner). I have never had any issues with loudness or needing to bias the MosFet power section. This baby cuts through in Band settings, the Graphic EQ works wonders. This Head has 12AX7tubes in the pre and 12AU7 in the power section.
Jerrold Tiers (TBer ex Ampeg tech said):"As for the amp...... you can look at it as basically close to a tube amp.... the only SS stuff in the main signal path are the mosfets, and they are "followers", basically taking the 12AU7 output and "matching" it to the speaker, somewhat like a transformer. They provide NO voltage gain, and minimal tone modification.
Unreliable?
Well, I may be a little biased, but given the number of amps we put out in the 20 years we had Ampeg, we really had a pretty low warranty rate.. I no longer have access to the data, so I can't give numbers.
But that should not be a concern."
$450 shipped in the SKB case. I will take pictures tonight at my Band's practice space.
