FS: Ampeg V4 Early 70's vintage tubes - Awesome tone! FL

Sign in to disble this ad
Here I have an early 70's V4 head for sale. Another amp I thought I would not part with as I love the tone, but my life is taking a drastic turn so I need the funds. I owned this amp along with an SVT-II non pro. Both played through a SVT 410 HLF and the volume was not much of a difference on the lower end. This head has alot of power for 100 watts. And honestly, I really like the tone better with the V4!

The head is in awesome shape for it's age! No tears in the tolex, still has the reverb box(but who need sit for bass) and not issues. The person who had it before me installed a master volume know on the face plate, but it is not currently hooked up. I swapped the 2 prong cord for a very stout 3 prong cord.

The tubes are a mix of newer and old. The power tubes are JJ 7027's while the pre-amp tubes are a mix of vintage Telefunken, Mullard, Tung-Sol, GE and RCA.. I have a few extra tubes that I will through in as well. A Mullard, GE and I think a Bogen?? Would have to double check.

Located near Tampa, FL/St Pete, FL.

Asking $800

Not really interested in any trades as the change in my life is I am either moving to Germany or having my g/f move here. Either choice is we will be getting married and I need the funds!

May consider Canon DSLR lens on trade.

Will post pics soon. Request any specific shots if you like!

Also posting an SVT 410HLF soon as well.

I have a SVT II (non-Pro) as well and it kicks a$$, I will get a V4 or V4B at some point in the future to see what all the fuss is about. I would like to request a shot of your German wife to be, we here at talkbass should be able to decide if she is worth it. ;-P Best of luck with the sale, and with the rest of your life! Cheers.
