FS: Ashdown ABM500H (UK Made)

For sale is an Ashdown ABM500H. I believe it was made in '99. For sure it was UK made. This thing sounds so good I cannot believe I am going to sell it. Octave thingy works really good too. I played it last Sunday and again I can't believe I am going to sell it.

This amp is rated at 500 watts RMS and 1000 watts peak at 4 ohms. The front panel is very hard to photograph and it looks much better than it does in the picture.

With that said I just bought another head so it's extra and I need to pay for a new laptop.

It looks great the pictures don't do it justice. I bought it from demon666 just a couple weeks ago sort of on impulse.

$375 +25 shipping in the lower 48 and it's yours. Rack not included.

I also have two MOjO Sonic single 10" cabs for sale here: FS: Ashdown ABM500H (UK Made)

I'll speak up, just having sold an ABM500. The photo shows no missing knobs. You have a knob for gain (far left), a knob for volume (far right), three knobs separated by sliders for EQ (a total of 7 bands of EQ), a smaller knob on the lower left for blending the ss/tube preamp, and another smaller knob on the lower right for the subharmonic effect. The "missing" knobs are actually push-in toggles for bypassing the EQ, setting the DI to pre- or post-eq, on/off for the subharmonizer, etc. Looks good to me (although a good cleaning of the chrome would go a long way to making the controls evident. All in all, this is an absolutely super deal!!

Having trouble finding spec's on this model. Is it equipped with a preamp tube(s)?

I found a couple of reviews on harmony central, and given you have only had the unit for a short time, could you give your take on how it sounds?

...always been interested in Ashdown, just don't know anything about this model.

This is a rack mount ABM500. It does have a tube and it is very warm by my estimation. It sounds very large to me. The EQ is very potent. It has a grind knob of sorts to introduce some distortion as well as a built in Octaver.

My price is really fair, I need to sell this thing to buy a computer. Honestly you cannot go wrong. I think you could make this amp work in just about any setting and be very happy with the output. I play in church most of the time and I'd be happy to use it there and literally anywhere else. I'd play loud bangin' rock with it in a second.

It's really a bitchin' amp that I don't want to sell but need to sell.

really fair is a massive freakin understatement. i sold one of these and totally regret it. these also don't photograph well because of the mirror finish....i'm sure it looks better in person than the photographs would indicate.

And yes because of the chrome faceplate its tough to get a good picture. It looks really nice in person.
