Well guys, my Spring Cleaning (even though it isn't Spring) is continuing. I've really got to pair some stuff down after buying a Sadowsky NYC and Mike Lull recently along with some recording gear. Plus, I've got my eye on a Moog Minitaur when it comes out, so.....
This is a nice little all tube head and would just kill as a recording unit or for lower/moderate volume gigs. It is in really brand new shape. I only brought it out on one gig to give it a whirl. Sounded great. 30 watts of tubey goodness.
$550 shipped in the continental US.
PS: I'll post some pics tonight.

I've only used it through a single 8 ohm 12". My buddy tried it at rehearsal with his 2-12" and found he was pushing it into dirty a bit for his taste at rehearsal. I guess that is the thing or not. Past 11 or so, it starts to break up, so I guess it depends on how you want to use it.
Check the thread on these, someone may have used it with an NV or other big cab.

It gets dirty at about noon as mentioned, but it's a good dirty, and is very sensitive to touch... light touch = big warm fuzzy sound... heavy touch = big nasty sound.
I had a LB and would gig it with a 2x15 set up, and practice with a 1x15 set up. Great for practice... ok for gigs... started to loose it when the band got a little loud. Would probably be better with the berg. Also, remember that you can make use of the DI in live situations!! |

I haven't played one, though the idea of this amp is what I've been looking for for sometime... I have a Big ol' SVT VR for the big gigs, but have been waiting for the amp that adds just a little warm tubey fuzz for the coffee shops and my bedroom... If you still have it in a couple weeks, I think I can help you out, but don't hold onto it for my sake.
Let me know! |
