I have a BBE B-MAX preamp in great working condition for sale. According to the previous owner, this unit also had the Gain modification done by BBE, so I was able to crank the Gain control without any problems. This is a clean sounding amp, so don't expect tubey overdrive or anything like that. Still, this was my preamp of choice when gigging with my bands recently. The only reason I'm selling is because we use in-ears and decided we really didn't need to drag my bass rig to most of our gigs, so there's no point in having the B-MAX sitting around not getting used.
The EQ on this amp is sorta old school. 2-10-2 for Treble-Mids-Bass is considered "flat", and there's an additional Sweepable Mid control which is very useful. The Compressor and Sonic Maximizer on the preamp work fine, but I admit I didn't use them much.
You will see a few Sharpie marks near some of the controls because those were the settings I used for my band. This preamp also had no problem sending a strong signal to my Crown XLS1500 power amp.
