Great tone with this preamp! One of the reasons why this bass preamp sounds so good is because it has high voltage circuitry (just like the Alembic and the Kern). A lot of manufacturers shove a 12AX7 tube into their product and then tout it as a tube preamp. Don't be fooled by that. Most of those use low voltage, and therefore do not provide that warm thick tube tone that many bass players prefer. If you want warm thick bass tone, always look for a high voltage design when shopping for a tube bass preamp!
