The unit has a switch to choose 115 or 230 volt operation.

I've been really tempted. What are you using as a preamp? Do you need a preamp or can you just run from a DI into it?

A Summit Audio TD-100. For my passive basses a Sadowsky pre into the TD-100. An active DI will work. You can even run an active bass straight into it if there's enough gain for your taste.
