FS Carvin BX500 - Modular with BR510N Combo Cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is my modular practice rig, consisting of a rack-mountable Carvin BX500 which can be used in either the included lightweight 2U rack case or a tolex-covered BR510N combo cabinet (both with Carvin-logo vinyl covers). Note the knurled thumbscrews which allow for easy interchange between the two locations. The rig also includes the Carvin FS-22 footswitch for easy control of the BX500 head.

I absolutely love this setup but I'm going on an extended band hiatus and am downsizing to just what I need to practice/record with at home.

The head and cab are in excellent condition and sound incredible - snappy and punchy! The combo just by itself runs $639 direct from Carvin - I'm asking $445 for everything shown shipped to your doorstep in the lower 48 but will entertain all offers!

PM me with questions! Here are links to the Carvin web site:

I've been dying to try one of these, though I was leaning more toward the 15" version. How's the volume output on this? Low end? This would fit my church playing situation quite well! If nothing else, here's a bump for you!

Thanks! Volume is quite surprising - I've used this primarily with a pair of guitar players w/blaring half-stacks and a Bonham style drummer and never pushed it past '3'. As for low end, that's where the flexibility of the BX500 shines - just add some eq boost on the low end and there's plenty of thunder to go around. I've used the eq curve shown in the pictures for some time and seasoned low end to taste by simply adjusting the bottom two sliders.

I've not been able to get a straight answer from Carvin on this but I'm 99.9% certain it's wired for 8 ohms. I do not currently have a functioning multimeter but when I combine the combo with a 4ohm 210 I have, the external cab is a good deal louder.

No real interest so I'm just keeping this one. Thanks to all for the PM's/messages.
